Here is one of my favourite quotes from Marianne Williamson’s book ‘A Return To Love’

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

It is talking about our potential in this world. As we move through this life it should be our goal to find what the yogis refer to as our Dharma, our reason for being here on this earth. Finding your purpose in life is the clearest path to finding your potential because when you know your purpose then everything you do or say, every action shines and radiates from you. We all have this latent force in us waiting to be uncovered. When you find your purpose it is like remembering what love is. It can be simple such as to create a poem or sing, or it can be more complex like setting a child on his or her journey and helping them uncover their true potential. Your purpose could be to serve or offer or donate, to help or listen. Your purpose can change and evolve over the years or days.

Your potential lies in your actions. When you practice your poses do you do so to your full potential, from your true being. Every action we take has this possibility, to be the fullest expression of our excellence.
When Ghandi was asked ‘ What is your message for the people’ he replied, “My life is my message”.

“My Life is my message”

Make your message be an expression of your full potential, in your poses, your actions, your words. Why hold something back? You are a spark of the divine.
