6: All Praise to my 10 Spiritual Teachers

praiseAs this blog is nearing its end I would like to acknowledge the teachers that have bought me this far. They are not people I can touch or talk to but every day I listen or read their work, digest it and see how it fits into everyday life. This is how it it embodied and bought to life.

Eckhart Tolle; For his simplicity in teachings, for helping me remember to come out of my stories and get really present to what matters most.

Dalai Lama; For his beauty and kindness and humbleness and lovely quotes

Caroline Myss; For being quite down to earth about finding god, spirituality and healing, some of her points sit with me daily.

Thich Nhat Hanh; For his buddhist teachings

Byron Katie; For reminding me that we can be free if we let go of our version of the truth

Jon Kabat-Zinn: For his work on mindfulness and mindfulness based stress reduction

Andrew Weil: For his insightful tips on looking after our bodies as well as our minds

Jack Kornfield; For his intelligence and wit concerning the workings of the mind

Don Miguel Ruiz: For his beautiful book the four agreements, it’s so simple and profound.

Michael Stone: For his beautiful soothing voice and talks on Buddhist Dharma.

Practice for today: Self study or Svadyhaha is how we learn more about ourselves and our connection to the world. Take time out today to sit with a reading from one of these teachers or if you prefer check out the top 100 list here.
